Japanese car quality?

The recent Toyota recall debacle seems to have dulled that company's once great reputation. Has this changed your opinion on the superiority of Japanese brands over American ones for quality, or do you see it as just a temporary setback? I notice the quality problems haven't really affected Honda, Nissan or Korean brands.:confused:
